The Bus Scholarship Fund exists to provide young adults in Nakuru County, Kenya,
who are transitioning from Children’s Homes into the community and do not qualify
for university admission, with alternative opportunities to pursue vocational
certifications, diplomas, or apprenticeships.

Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Bus Scholarship Fund, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Residency: Must have been raised in a children's home located within Nakuru County, Kenya.
- Time Since Exit: Must have exited the children's home within the last 2 years, by the time of application deadline.
- Academic Qualification: Must not have qualified to pursue a bachelor's degree course in a Kenyan university.
- Financial Need: Must be unable to finance the course without external assistance.
- Program History: Must have a proven history of having been a NACAMP beneficiary.
- Career Interest: Must demonstrate interest in pursuing technical education or apprenticeships.
Documents Required
Successful candidates will be required to provide the following documents:
- Academic certificates
- Birth certificate or National ID
- Passport Photo (not more than 6 months old)
- Recommendation letter from Local Administration or Community Leader.
(Must have official letter head, stamp and Signature)
Application Screening
All submitted applications will be screened based on the above eligibility criteria.
Shortlisted candidates will then be invited for an assessment, which may include aptitude
tests and/or personal interviews. These assessments are designed to evaluate the
candidate’s technical skills aptitude and motivation to pursue a career in their chosen
field. Interviews will assess personal circumstances and commitment to completing the
program.
Selection and Notification
All applicants will be notified of their application outcome via email, text message,
and/or phone call. A public announcement will also be made on A4C’s official website and
social media platforms.
NOTE: All successful applicants must undergo a compulsory one-week full-board training.
This cost-free training is designed to facilitate the beneficiaries’ transition into their
new learning environments.
